West Bank – SIR News Agency – Translated and Edited by Nabd El-Haya
Taybeh, the only fully Christian town in the West Bank, was subjected to a new attack on the morning of Thursday, March 19, 2026, by Israeli settlers targeting public property, a concrete factory, and a quarry.
For some time, Father Bashar Fawadleh, priest of the Latin Parish of Christ the Redeemer in Taybeh, has warned of ongoing incursions into agricultural lands, livestock thefts, acts of vandalism, and military restrictions that deepen the town’s isolation, worsen the economic crisis, and threaten residents’ security.
In a statement to the Italian news agency SIR, Father Fawadleh explained that more than 30 settlers entered the quarry and concrete plant located west of the town this morning, conducting Talmudic rituals and prayers. He added that the settlers had also entered the site yesterday, effectively taking control of the area. “These actions constitute a serious escalation and a clear violation of property rights,” he said, “raising serious concerns about attempts to impose new facts on the ground.”
Father Fawadleh also noted that yesterday the settlers raised an Israeli flag over one of the plant’s tanks, a provocative act that angered local residents.
This latest attack is part of a long series of violations and assaults documented monthly by Father Fawadleh, recording both settler attacks and the military restrictions imposed on Palestinians living in Taybeh and neighboring villages, which have intensified since October 7, 2023.
